> So now we get to the point. I'm looking for opinions on this one; if I (theoretically) draw a picture of a young-looking person of unspecified age, would I be guilty of producing child pornography? And should I be? Assume, of course, that I'm not using an actual person as a model; I'm just sitting around the house, idly sketching something. Also, how do we determine whether or not it has "artistic merit?"

Of course you shouldn't be, that's just stupid. Where's the crime? I never understood child pornography laws anyways. It seems that you can get in trouble just for *looking* at it. How is that wrong? You haven't caused the child to be in the pictures or videos or anything, and it's not like you've hurt it in any way. I can understand filming it being illegal, but looking at it?
