Kangaroo

A friend of mine said his wife had a kangaroo steak at a French restaurant in London. Just so I can avoid such stuff, I need to know: is that a French thing or British? Isn't London a long hop from kangaroo country? What have those people got against normal food?

The last time I was in London was in the '80's and remember the food as somewhat forgetable. It was hard to find American food like pizza, fried rice, and tacos.

I knew a guy who went to Paris a couple of decades back and he couldn't get French Fries anywhere but McDonalds. Then he went to Germany and after looking all over Frankfort and Hamburg, he finally got a hamburger at, you guessed it, McDonalds. He said he never found a real American hot dog, just German copies with funny names.
