Well, you have to put it in perspective. I mean, what our definition of normal food is could be, and probably is, completely different from what other people's definitions of normal food. In some cultures, people find it unbelievably outrageous that we eat cows.

Huh? Pizza is Italian, fried rice is Chinese, and tacos are Mexican. Most of our so-called American foods are taken from other cultures, anyways, only modified and fit to the American palate. Omelettes? France. Coffee? Carribeans. A whole bunch of stuff? Britain.

I'm not sure, but I believe that french fries didn't really originate in France.

You got me there. But I think I would consider German copies with funny names still to be "normal food".
