So, Since I got to Monkeyman's house, I've seen him in chat more often than in the flesh, so I never really saw the point of writing a RinkMeet post. I think he had been avoiding me.

But today, we drove out to Banff in the early aftenoon, intending to hike around Lake Louise. However, the best laid plans of mice and monkeys go awry more often than you might expext, and we ended up climbing Sulfur Mountain, which is 7,500 feet high. The trail was a little over 3 miles, and they suggested it would take between 2 and 5 hours. We had thought that the cable car back down would stop running at 4pm (stupid sign), so we weren't convinced that we would bother going all the way to the top. Fortunatly we found out that it actually ran until 6:30, which was good.

It took us about 2 hours 15 which, given the snow and ice on the trail, and the fact thet we're both unfit slobs, we decided was a very good time indeed. It was certainly tough going, though. We wandered around the top for a while shouting "A winner is us!" and "We 0wn j00, Mountain!", and other witty things. Three of four times on the way up, girls went past us, quite easily, but we stopped worrying about our manlyness when one of them broke into a jog, and we realised that they were probably professionals.

We went for pizza at a place called Aardvarks that Monkeyman reccomended, and I think you'll know what I mean when I sat that it was very nearly as good as ahmoacah pizza. Then we drove home, and that was about it.

So, the moral of the story is that we 0wned 29 billion tons of mountain in just a couple of hours. And it felt very good, too.
