I met Travholt at Oslo Central Train Station at 11am. He recognised me easily enough, which is just as well. Travholt is far taller than his pictures make him look. I suggest, therefore, that a "height" field be added to the Profile immediatly.

We got back to his place, and he looked at some of my photos that I have taken so far, and feighed interest in them. I saw his photos of when he went to exactly the same places a few years ago. It was a little weird, but interesting.

I played GTA:Vice City for a while, and kept on making the cars explode. Shoddy workmanship, if you ask me. Then we went to a New Year's party with some of his friends. I wore a shirt and tie for the first time in months. I knew there was a reason why I packed them. My tie had Obi-Wan on it. We had a traditional Norwegian Christmas meal of cured lamb ribs and some variety of sausage. It was very tasty indeed. And the company was excellent, and I'm very glad I was there. Even if I did stay stone cold sober. I don't think I've done that on New Year's Eve since I was 15.

Everyone there spoke excellent English, so I understood what people were talking about more often than not. We discussed The Northern Ireland Problem, Sunderland's prospects, and thing you need to do before you die. There was no misseltoe.

There were fireworks down at the harbour. A huge, colourful, expensive display with bangs loud enough that you could feel the shockwaves. It was cold out, though. About -15 C, Travholt tells me. Certainly the snow was about a foot deep. This is a good thing. Norway is supposed to look like that.In fact, on the train this morning, Sweden and Norway looked like a giant Christmas card: All pine forests and little wooden houses covered in deep snow. Quite beautiful.

I've been awake for 43 hours now, so I shall go to bed, I think. Goodnight, and have a good year :)
