Ah yes, cable cars. Would you believe that I've never ridden on a San Francisco cable car? The only time I was in downtown San Fran, we had four smallish children and had been advised against taking them on the cable cars. Next time for sure.

I like to try different modes of transportation. I rode the double streetcars in SF. And I've ridden the train to San Diego once. I remember riding street cars as a child in Nashville, and as an adult in New Orleans. I like the Conch train in Key West, and the Sugar Cane Train on Maui. I once rode the Interurban from Norfolk to Ocean View. And best of all, I rode steam engined trains in the Eastern Kentucky mountains. I also like subways like the ones in Boston, Washington, DC, Atlanta, and London. For a real thrill, I can recommend the 125 bullet train from Paddington Station in London to Cardiff, Wales. That was a long time ago. It probably goes faster than 125 now. I seem to like anything on rails but a roller coaster. Those scare me.
