How does entertainment show disrespect? War is not a laughing matter, of course, but what's wrong with being amused during a war? Certainly, US soldiers are risking their lives overseas for us, but reading jokes while they're fighting doesn't mean that we don't support them. Rather, it seems counterproductive to me to change your habits because of a war in Iraq. After all, aren't they fighting so we don't HAVE to change? Nor does it seem incongruous to me to be saddened by tragedy and then amused by a game or a joke, unless the joke is at the expense of the dead. If we allow the tragedy of death in war to take over our life, then the life was lost in vain.
