OK, maybe I'm overanalyzing here, but people have repeatedly given me that advice, and it hasn't really helped me any.

Why? If I aim at the center of the road five car lengths ahead, *I*, in the driver's seat, will be in the center of the road, surely enough. Unfortunately, that's not where I need to be. If the perspective from the driver's seat is perfectly centered in the road, the other half of the car will, of course, be way the heck off to the right.

Oh, and did I mention my spatial estimation skills are awful? This is why I'm an amateur musician and not an amateur artist. :)
