I just realized that I wrote "center of the road" when I meant "center of the lane". Oops.

Nonetheless, what I said still applies: when I try to stare ahead at the center of the *lane*, that makes it so that the driver's seat is perfectly centered--but the rest of the car is off to the right-hand side.
