I'll take your word for that. I used to tell my students in driver ed that two cars colliding head-on at 50 was like hitting a parked car at a hundred. I don't think any of them tested that theory either.

Most wrecks are not the violent movie-type smash ups. I've been in several wrecks and the only injury I ever got was a pump on my forehead. Hard-head that I am, I demolished the windshield on a '36 Plymouth. Styrofoam had not been invented at that time but IF it had, and IF I had been wearing a styrofoam bicycle helmet, neither the windshield nor my bean would have been damaged.
