I had not heard of Barrilitos before, and from a brief inspection of the labels, I learned they were manufactured in Mexico and imported. This surprised me, because way up in New Hampshire, Mexico has almost no cultural impact.

Sam: You've learned a very important lesson that many of us who live close to the border have known a long time. NEVER EVER EAT ANY MEXICAN PRODUCT OTHER THAN FRESH MEXICAN FOOD.

THIS GOES DOUBLE FOR MEXICAN CANDY.

As much as I love fresh Mexican food, pretty much every sealed sort of Mexican food product is utterly horrible. I don't understand how a people with such good cooking can eat such horrible pre-packaged food. While American pre-packaged stuff tends just to be bland, most Mexican pre-packaged food is engineered to be as awful as possible.

Pepsi Blue is pretty bad. I did, however, conduct an experiment last month. Some friends and I got a bottle of that and a bottle of Mountain Dew Code Red and mixed them. The result? A pretty tasty beverage, if you like candy. It's like drinking gummy worms. Insane.
