Power conduits (again)

Hi all,

I'm still having trouble with the power conduits and I think that part of the trouble I'm having is visualizing the cardinal directions and the meridian. I know the inner parallel is the inner circle and the outer parallel is the part you take a bite out of. can someone please explain to me how to visualze the cardinal directions and what it means to cross the meridian? At this point it feels like my brain has liquefied.
