Most of the time fortune cookies are a whole different thing. Why? Because they DON'T TELL FORTUNES. I get a lot more "fortunes" that say things like, "You are a blessing to those around you" and "Trust cannot be underappreciated" (I'm making those up, because I can't think of any specific real examples), instead of things that actually make predictions. I don't put an iota of stock in any value of fortune cookies except as entertainment, but somehow it's still a pet peeve of mine when fortune cookies don't tell fortunes.
