I'd like to add that there aren't many cases where paranoid schizophrenics are harmful to others. Generally, there's something about the mentally unstable that makes a lot of people feel uncomfortable (I don't know what it is, though I'd wager it's among their unpredictability, the fact that we realize there is little we can do to help them, and that they don't rigidly follow our social mores), but most stories of schizophrenics physically hurting your average Joe are anectdotal and rare.
