Our bed is in the corner of out bedroom, and I make my husband sleep in the corner during the winters. I have arachnophobia so bad it's ridiculous, and I'm convinced a giant hairy tarantula is living between our bed and the wall and will come out and eat my face at night. This even more ridiculous because we live in Wisconsin. The largest spider I've ever seen outside a zoo had a body about the size of a dime (just thinking about it gives me the heebly jeeblies).

I suggest a screen on the window. Also helps keep out mosquitoes, wasps, hornets, killer bees, poisonous snakes, gobblins, and other varmits.
