American Accents

Leen came across this page, which asks a surprisingly small number of questions and then claims to identify which accent you have. It only covers American accents, although it would not surprise me if it got Canadian accents about right.

When Leen and I took the test, it put Leen in the Boston area (stipulating that "New Hampshire" was included in that grouping despite that NH accents don't sound anything like Boston accents) and me in the "northeast," which seemed to be defined as southern New England and New York. That's probably about right -- although I live in New Hampshire now, I've also lived in Virginia and England, and maybe New York is where I average out.
