Reviews and Comments

By Tarzan and the Great River, the life and vigor Weintraub and Hayutin had injected into the Tarzan series when they took over back in 1959 had all but died. This lazily-paced jungle adventure, despite a deadly raging badguy plot, lacks any sense of urgency that would have made it interesting to its audience. Silly lightheartedness again takes precedence over tense adventure thrills. Jan Murray's funny old grump character is a scene-stealer, but except for that and a good fistfight at the end, there's not much to recommend this.
