Strangely, even a young stripling like myself (born 1972) can remember the tail end of the era of full-service gas stations. Maybe they hung on longer in the South. But self-service has been my experience for my whole adult life, and I actually like it a lot. Guess I'm a child of my always-on-the-go generation.
