I am assuming this was in a graphics program (Photoshop?). If so, your 'scratch disk' is the folder for recently used information, such as your history, rendered files, etc. If you are in photoshop there is a purge command.

If you are using a different program and this happens, a similar fix will apply (just go to a search engine and type: "scratch disk full" and then the name of the program for quick instructions).

Most programs have very detailed options in regards to this; you can set periodic purging, maximum and minimum folder sizes, change the directory (perhaps to a faster hard drive), etc.

Be forewarned that if you are working on a project and do this, you won't be able to undo commands, or go back to pre-rendered files.

If this isn't a movie/photo editor related problem than I don't know, sorry.
