> Ok I remember thinking wow that woman from Mcdonald got alot for money for spilling her coffee....... However after having someone else's coffee sitting in my cup holder between the seats and the cup tipping sideways, the lid obviously popping off and the coffee spilling into my leather seat where I was sitting > I can honestly say it was the moist horrifying experience of my life. I have first and second > degree burns and it was terrifying thinking I may be scarred for life. I felt like I was in a nightmare. If you never had it happen to you you will never know the god awlful feeling and emotional trauma it can cause. I am sure until a week ago that I use too think the same way but once it happens to you it's another story and I couldn't imagine being 70+ years old and not being able to move as quickly I I did when it happened. It took less than 10 seconds to get first and second degree burns on my buttock and legs. 10 seconds!! and it wasn't even my coffee.
Two years ago I was boiling a large pot of potatoes. Taking it off the burner to drain it, I bumped into a counter and spilled it on myself. I had extensive second-degree burns myself. So who, according to you, should I sue for this? The manufacturer of the pot, perhaps? Or of the range? The owner of the restaurant where I worked? I mean, sure, free money is all fine and good, but none of them are particularly liable. Just because it sucks doesn't mean anybody involved owes you a thing.
