I also made an installer using the Wizard included in the program. It worked fine on the computers I tested it on, which were all fully updated, so I gave it to all of my friends.

It didn't work because "the .NET framework is not installed." Then, I downloaded and installed the .NET framework version 2.0. Then, the game did not work because "this program requires the .NET framework vs. 1.*something*."

I'm really worried because a) Visual Studio is expensive now that I am no longer a student, and I would hate to have to buy the latest version and b) I'm afraid my lovely game is obsolete already!

Visual Studio uses the .NET version that is installed on your computer..it's a separate program. .NET is just a bunch of libraries and stuff that Microsoft wrote to help you write Windows programs. You probably got a CD with the old version of .NET with your Visual Studio CD, and it had you install both.

All you have to do is go to the website below and update your .NET installation, don't worry, it's free. Make sure you download the SDK, not just the Redistributable. Then, you can just recompile the program and it should run on your work computer.
