Most of their time there was spent repairing damage done to the buildings during recent hailstorms. The day after they arrived there was another storm that knocked out the power. We were shown before and after pictures of some of the work that they did; I was amazed at the amount of damage that the camp director's home had suffered. The vinyl siding was pockmarked with holes, and there were places where the decorative shutters had been pulverized and fallen right off the house. I believe they had to replace the roof as well.

A good group of voluneers seems to get more done with less hassel than all of the government agencies. My daughter and granddaugher are going to the gulf coast with a church group to do some of that kind of work. I wouldn't be surprised if they also went to Middle Tennessee.
