Middle of last week they were saying we were going to get 6-12 inches on Saturday. Then by Friday, they were saying that we were only going to get 3-5 on Saturday night.

Saturday came, and no snow. My boys and I went and played ball in the back yard Saturday afternoon, and finally came in around 4:00 when a few flakes started falling.

This morning I got up expecting to shovel around 3 inches or so off the walk that I figured had accumulated overnight.

I took one look out the back door and grabbed a ruler. We had 11 and 1/2 inches on our back walk, and the snow was still coming. They cancelled church services for the day, and we've been housebound all day. This morning when I was out shoveling, all was quiet. We live on a very busy street; the noise of traffic is always present. It was eerie.

They shouldn't have changed their original forecast.
