So many questions. Where to begin?

> to start out I can't get the speed on my Assassin and knight to go up. one thing that is stoping them is the iron armor that they have on is -1 speed each. yet even when I take it of my speed goes up to normle but my AC is 2. is it possable to up my speed and keep a good AC???? oh and I tryed light armor but my speed dosn't go up.

Items of Specialness with Speed bonuses and penalties really do work. Trust me, I've used them all. Sometimes you will have to decide between WC/AC and Speed, there's no getting around that.

You'll only notice Speed in battle, and it affects how many monsters you can attack per round and how many times you can hit them. If memory serves, you need Speed of about 12 to hit 9 monsters at a time, and any more than that will only affect how much damage you do. Base Speed (unequipped) will never exceed 10.

Oh, and not every one point increase in Speed lets you attack one more monster. But you will do more damage with every attack.

> and another thing how do you get to the pools on level 5????? do have to go through level 7 or is it just that I didn't explore all the level?

You should probably map every level, including treasures and traps. If you find a path to those pools within Level 5, great. If not, figure out what's above and below the pools and explore those areas. Maybe you'll find a way to get there from Level 4 or Level 6.

There's not much that casters can wear, and that goes double for Druids. Just keep your Druid buried at the back of your party (positions 4, 5, 6) and he won't need his AC to protect him.
