Well, in my case, it depends. I mean, I got a tenpence that way, and I'm in Florida, so that wass good. Before, I only had 2 fivepence coins in money from "across the pond".

I recently added a half-franc to my collection. It was in dad's change. It the same color as a dime, but it has the same diameter as a penny, and is as thick as a fifty-cent piece. It also has ridges. I figure some cashier wasn't pying attention to size and gave him a half-franc instead of a dime, but I could be wrong.

Resemblances like that are fun, aren't they? Along with the aforementioned fivepences, I got CAN $1.23, 2 Francs, and even a half-cent from Sierra Leone that way. I don't know if that's how I got my 50 penni/pennia from Finland or not, but I guess it's possible.
