Phantom and some other good shows

Did anybody mention "South Pacific?" War story, some great songs and a couple of good ones, a cuss word or two, beautiful sets, inspired by James Michener's "Tales of the South Pacific." But one of the supporting characters gets killed off.

How about "The Desert Song?" One real good song, "Stout Hearted Men." I saw it at the movies and I couldn't believe they could do it on a stage. Did they?

I saw "Singing in the Rain" at the movies and wondered how they could ever do that on stage without flooding everything back to the eighth row. But they did it at Crossville, and it was grrrrrrrreat. Nobody drowned.

I saw "Music Man" and "Oklahoma" both on stage and in the theatre. Also "Carosel" and "The King and I." Oak Ridge Playhouse did "King" and I was disappointed because the title character had hair.

Has anybody ever seen the movie "Royal Wedding" with Jane Powell and Fred Astaire? I used to know every word in the song "How Could You Believe Me When I said I Loved You When You Know I've Been a Liar All My Life?" Not just the title, the whole song, and it's a duet. Too bad I can't sing. No,. . . maybe that's a good thing.

I must not be very picky, I like 'em all.
