"Something like 70%" is because I saw the statistic cited by a health center in their literature and I'm not sure where they got their numbers. My apologies for being unclear. It is, however, a large fraction of cases. The link I've provided discusses the relationship much more thoroughly.

It's difficult for me to rank these kinds of things. I'm not trying to say they're not all horrible things. But at least when you're dead, you're dead, and your family mourns you and recovers over time. Things like sexual assault and domestic violence leave physical, emotional, and psychological scars that can sometimes feel worse even than death. I probably ought to amend my previous statement to say "the first of many things that could go wrong". My point is that we can't leave these kinds of crimes out of the consideration just because they don't always end in fatalities and aren't as advertised.
