I've always thought that named vehicles were neat. We, too, have vehicles named "the van" and "the truck" and "that junky thing". I just got a little Ford Ranger to drive to school, and I'm thinking about calling it Strider (you know, like Aragorn in LOTR--the ranger, ha ha), but I will probably end up calling it "the Ranger" due to the fact I have never been able to give inanimate objects names that stick.
