I think this is a rather specious quibble over definitions. If somebody is *sincerely* praying to the Jewish or Christian God, that makes them a Jew or a Christian as far as I'm concerned, for the purposes being discussed in this thread. Jews and Christians are the religious people who have been replying to the thread so far, but for the purposes of the discussion, it wouldn't really matter if somebody was sincerely praying to a giant talking banana called Harold which they believe is God. We're talking about how believers view the process of prayer, not whether they're a fully paid-up member of any particular religion.
