YES! Forgot that one. As soon as you can get speed 5, do so and start attacking multiple monsters. Every speed point from there to 12 (I think) is soooo good. After that it's "just" more oomph in your fighting, but the benefits of hitting multiple monsters cannot be exaggerated I think.
This is related to the long-range weapon advice. Boosting speed is useless if it's all thrown away like that.
