I was going to post a follow-up anyway, but after seeing Mousie's response, I definitely have to.

I bit on gauze for two hours, changing it once at the hour mark. When the gauze came out, I put a pot pie in the oven for 45 minutes. So two hours and 45 minutes after my wisdom tooth was pulled, I ate a pot pie, a burrito, and several Wheat Thins.

The anesthesia wore off around the 2 hour, 30 minute mark (Mousie was technically correct), and there was no pain. When I woke up this morning, it took me a moment to remember that I had had anything done to my mouth at all and that I needed to start rinsing and spitting. If I open my mouth part way and extend my lower jaw out as far as it can go and tighten my cheek muscles, THEN I can feel a little tenseness where the novocaine went in.

I can't believe my luck with wisdom teeth.
