We've heard from friends who visited the USVI and they said to head to St. John instead of St. Thomas. St. John is 90% undeveloped, St. Thomas is covered with houses -- or so I've heard. "Island Paradise" is how I picture the place. Back in NYC, in the chill of winter, I'd check the weather in Cruz Bay. It was always about 77 degrees Farenheit, partly cloudy. If that's not enough, you've got to love a place that has a holiday called "Hurricane Supplication Day".

If you are going to be marooned on a tropical island, St. John is the one. It's just one fantastically beatuiful, unspoiled beach after another. I recommend a snorkel, face mask, and flippers. Also a small motorbike or scooter would be nice. Carry a little food and water. Take sunscreen and don't forget to tell the rescue boat to stay away at least three or four weeks.
