That sucks. My credit union doesn't charge for using my card as an ATM card, but a lot of places will tack on a 35 cent fee for using an ATM card. If given a choice, I usually choose credit, as then the merchant gets to pay any fees and not me. Of course, it means I have to sign my name instead of entering my PIN.
