As an aside: it took me more than just "a few
moves" to get the giraffe to lose interest.
Walking around in the area never seemed to
work; I had to do this twice when I played the
game and both times I had to go back to the
main part of the game and putter around all
over the place for quite some time before
being able return and proceed north.
