We go camping every May on a beach in Mexico, and one year the winds were so high that we had to sit in our tents and hold them down with our hands to keep them from blowing away. I think at some point we gave up and unpitched ours and put it away somewhere. We had to put extra weight on our tarp set-up so that it wouldn't blow away either. When we finished with all of that, every single person in the 70-odd group holed up in their trucks and Jeeps and RV's until the wind and rain went away. That year was so awesome.
