Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait a minute.

You mean to tell me you've NEVER HEARD of Gilligan's Island? Where do you LIVE?!?!?! :-)

I guess that's possible; 'cause the show was most likely only popular in America. It's about seven people stranded on a desert island. Every episode they try to save themselves, but something always goes wrong and prevents them from escaping. Usually it's Gilligan's fault, because he's the not-so-smart guy who tends to screw things up. Meanwhile, the castaways have built a pretty cool little society on their island, with huts and just about every amenity you could pedal to power.

The characters are:
- Gilligan: The bumbling first mate of the tour boat that crashed. He always goofs things up.
- Skipper: The captain of the boat. He's best friends with Gilligan but tends to lose his patience a lot.
- The Professor: He's the brains of the operation. He's always inventing cool gadgets that'll surely save everyone... but never do.
- Mary Ann: A farm girl who doesn't do much but act innocent and wash dishes.
- Ginger: The movie star who does pretty much the same as Mary Ann, only sometimes she'll switch into "foxy mode" to try to persuade Gilligan to do stuff.
- Mr. and Mrs. Howell: The millionairre and his wife, who have a lot of money that's worth nothing on this island, and always insist on living in luxury, even while cast away.

I think everybody in America likes Gilligan's Island. True, that's a very uneducated statement, but I can't imagine that anyone could NOT like it. The humor is pretty goofy and the low-budget jungle sets are downright laughable themselves. There was a movie made a few years after the show went off the air, in which everybody escaped from the island, but several of the characters were played by different actors, so it was rather unsatisfying. Besides, escape from Gilligan's Island was never meant to be! After all those episodes of trying, it just seems like something went wrong when they made the movie.

Well, that about sums it up for Gilligan's Island. If you can find any old tapes of it, check it out! It's quality family entertainment, no matter where in the world you are.
