Well, I've never cried uncontrollably for no reason - usually there's a high velocity hammer/thumb interaction involved, or a screening of "Madam X" (oh, those old movies get me) - but I do have odd changes of mood from time to time.

I have no idea what causes it though. I used to get the odd bout of depression while I was at Uni (wallow in that self pity!), but when I tried to talk to a doctor about it he asked a few fairly nonspecific questions about periodicity and my diet and wrote off a prescription like it was a reflex action. I tore that one up.

I think everyone gets a monk* on every so often.

Maybe it's just your personal way of having one. If it helps, I suffer from the odd total suspension of brain activity, and the ensuing head-banging frustration caused by the fact that I can't remember how to spell "four" or some other incredibly obvious thing that gets stuck in my head.

That's very disturbing.

*monk - "face like a monk" - bad mood.
