From what I've heard tell (my assistant pastor
used to live in Minnesota, he's a huge VIkings
fan) Minnesotans tend to say their "O's" like
Norwegians. I think this is because Minnesota
was orginally largely settled by Norwegian
immigrants. Or parts of it.

I have never been to Minnesota or researched
this in any way to prove or disprove this
hypothesis. Just so you know I'm spouting this
off the back of my head.
