I've also seen them at night from airplanes, but the beauty increases with distance. A nearby thunderstorm brings up other emotions. You're not weird Howard, unless I am. I also see beauty in thunderstorms. One of my favorite memories from childhood is sitting on the porch of my dad's house out in the country and watching over the hills as the thunderstorms rolled in. We could usually see them a half hour before they even got to our house. It was always breathtaking to watch, and I hope to someday have a house where I can do that again.

Of course, living alone now, thuderstorms still make it hard for me to sleep. Though awesome to watch, they are scary to listen to. So, when you know it's storming in SouthEast Ohio and it's late at night, you can surely catch me in chat because I'm not going to bed anytime soon. :)
