To clarify my post above: I realize in retrospect that it seems as though I'm complaining flippantly about how events made me fail a test, as if that was the most important way in which my life was affected.

I assure you that's not what I meant to express; rather, the apparent coldness of that teacher towards the events of the day and how it affected all of us deeply, to the point of forcing us through an event that really should have been laid aside in face of what had already happened that day was something that really affected me. It was incomprehensible to me why she would take that course of action on such a day, and it seemed very apathetic and callous towards what had happened. That remembered sense of being forced through a suddenly very insignificant exercise when giving us time to deal with that day's events would have been much more appropriate... that stuck with me. That was what I was trying to express in the above post, and I may have inadvertantly failed at that.

I apologize for any trouble my lack of clarity might have caused, and hope this post clears some things up.
