My mom woke me up early and showed me the TV. I was confused until she actually EXPLAINED, at which point I started crying hysterically and ran upstairs to get online because the TV was too scary. Aside from those 30 seconds I never saw ANY other TV coverage, even to this day. (Although, later on that day I had to turn off the TV which was on a news channel, and as I approached they cut to running a clip of the second plane heading in. I screamed, covered my ears, closed my eyes and turned off the TV by pushing the button with my foot.)

The other major thing I remember clearly was the stupidest, most callous thing ever inflicted on students.

We had a midterm scheduled in Art History. I was sure it would be cancelled but my mom made me go just in case.

It wasn't. The whole class (those that were there, which was about half) was very clearly very traumatized - I for one was STILL shaking and had very little mental coherence - was made to take the test as if nothing whatsoever had happened.

Way to make a bad day worse, anyone? Even more delightful, we pretty much all failed (wonder why?) and the professor wouldn't drop the grades.
