It must me way upstate somewhere. Making a three-pointer exposes your front, back and both sides to oncoming traffic. Suicide! > > If I have to turn around, I go around the block. If I can't do that, and there is nobody behind me, I stop and back into a driveway on the right and wait until there is no traffic from either direction to go left. Another option is to find a business with a parking lot on the left. Turn into that and then turn around in the lot before pulling out and going right. I've been driving since 1949, and I don't average a three-point turn a year. Even then, I have to be where traffic is near zero. > How"cold chills"ard
Actually, I don't live in the city or near the city. I live probably about 5 hours northwest of the city. I like out in the boonies.
But when it comes to doing a three-point turn, I rarely use it. I either use a U-Turn or I pull into someone's driveway and go from there. But when taking a road test, they will take you on to the side roads of the city to do parallel parking and 3-point turns. That's what they did with my brother and his friends when they took their road test(s). I couldn't imagine trying to do a 3-point turn in heavy traffic. It's stupid...especially since some people don't like to give you the right of way.
