MS Critical Update Notification is a little program that runs itself once a day and checks to make sure you have the latest "critical updates" from MS. Since MS releases these updates about once a week, it can be handy to keep you current. It can also be a bit of a pain, as it seems to pop up when I least want it to.

Of course, somebody *could* have created a virus that just LOOKS like MS Critical Update Notification... If you want to be 100% sure, you can go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ to view the updates yourself and download them manually. If you want instructions on how to disable Update Notification, reply and I'll type them up.
