Reminds me of something that happened to my dad recently. He got a bonus.

Why?

He comes in just about every day he's supposed to, when he's supposed to, and when he doesn't, there's a serious problem, and he notifies his boss of it.

Originally, he wasn't going to get it, because it was a bribe -- er, INCENTIVE -- for those folks who come in just enough to avoid getting fired to start coming in like they're paid a regular salary to do in the first place. Since dad was already doing that, they didn't feel the need to offer the same incentive to him. But somewhere along the way, someone figured that that wasn't fair, and gave him a bonus for doing what he was doing for a regular salary.

I'm not complaining that dad got the bonus, it's just sad that they feel they have to do that in order to get their hired personnel to come in.
