If it IS a joke, it is EXTREMELY well-carried off. A few years ago, this guy came to Weber State University (my school; or rather, OLD school, as I am transferring in the fall) and did a seminar. Unfortunately, I didn't know about it and therefore, didn't attend, but I wish I had. My astronomy teacher, on the other hand, was able to go and said that these guys are really convinced that the earth is flat. They even had charts and all sorts of things they called "proof." (Although, I can't remember what any of this was anymore, outside his map and some conspiracy theory about covering up the fact that astronomers are wrong about it being round.)
Also, any questions to his theories were pretty much blown off. According to my astronomy teacher, at any rate.
