Boy o boy, did this thread ever take a nasty turn. Next thing you know people will be comparing riders with their scooters(or other vehicles). In my case, antiquated, worn out, obsolete, out-of-date, impractical, slow, old-fashioned, noisy, smelly, in need of repair, neighborhood nuisance, stubborn, greasy,. . . . Oh, the pain!

If I follow your analogy to its natural conclusion, this means I'm old enough to be falling apart but not old enough to be considered a "classic"; I'd look much better with a bit of paint but I don't have enough time to bother; and there isn't a whole lot of demand for that year's model unless all of the original features have been modified at great expense.
