No, it's not a stupid question. At least, I hope it isn't, since I had to ask it loads of times to finally find the Gatekeeper!

I'll basically repeat some very good advice that I got:

You notice that Level 4 is mostly little rooms. Follow the longest possible path through all the rooms, not crossing your tracks, until you get to a dead end. That's where you want to be.

Need extra details, just ask!
