Murkon ~ Gaining Exp and Equip (possible Level 3/4 Spoiler)

Currently my party ranges from a Lvl 11 Assassin to a Lvl 16 Rogue. If I'm lucky, I can get through one group on 7 but 8 kills me. Levels 5 and 6 seem like a lot of walking w/out much killing. So, I'm using the stairs from lvl 3 down to the lvl 4 big hallway w/ the room w/ monsters and 4 pools. Killing and diving, then going back up and back down in a continuous loop. I can get about 5 laps before I have to head back to Kalin to power up. Is there a faster way to gain experience and equipment? Just curious.
