What exactly can the Leviathan hit?

I finally decided to kill the Leviathan. I murdered his minions without any spells and lost about 300 health total doing that. So I went to face the Leviathan. I used 2 quakes, 1 Rod of Catastrophe, and used 3 guys to fight. I killed him in that one round. He hit nothing on me. So how much damage can the Leviathan actually do?
