Yeah, but Sir Perinnite the Nonmagical is gonna feel like crap when he doesn't find them too. Knowing the WC and AC of an Item of Specialness is usually good enough, and by one's second game one tends to know whether, for example, WC is to be sacrificed for Dexterity.

Actually, that was a bit of an issue too, since he got paralyzed aboot five times in a row right after I retrained him as an Assassin. Didn't even have time to cast QUAKE. That was depressing.

When I found items I would make an instant decision whether a) it was useful to my character or b) a source of funds. If it was neither I dropped it. Went through a lot of items this way. (Though as I've mentioned, I still didn't find half the cool stuff you have...)

Once you get to Kaliti, every time you're near death you have to fight your way back to Perinn, so better to just die and pay the price to resurrect.

I did use Restoration amulets when I could find them. That really paid off when I found one right before fighting Death. (although it really just meant that I could last longer on level 10 before I died.) Reviving in Perrin turned out to be very cost-effective.

I found that Items of Healing are a terrific source of funds. It's astonishing what people will pay for them at Teralt. My boson party only keeps Items of Healing and Items of Extra-Specialness, and immediately tosses the rest, even such coveted Items of Specialness as Shield +4 and wands. By the time they get to Murkon, they're usually full of Items, each worth upward of 70k and many over 300k. I've even sold an Item of Druidity for 600k.
